The shortest journey
to the right destination.
Deep links can connect a click to a specific place inside an app. Understand the possibilities, the dependencies, and how to plan a reliable fallback.
What is a deep link?
A deep link points to a specific destination rather than a general home screen. For mobile apps, that might be a product, a video, or a profile. Supporting app links can open the installed app when the operating system and browser allow it.
A good app journey has a web fallback
Not everyone has the app installed. A working campaign should also have a useful HTTPS destination that loads in a browser. Avoid sending people to an empty page or assuming every device handles an app URL the same way.
Qiklinks today and tomorrow
The current Qiklinks tools build standard campaign URLs and static QR codes. If an app already supports opening its own HTTPS links, the destination may open in that app; Qiklinks does not add or guarantee that behavior.
Plan before you promote
- Confirm the app supports the destination you need.
- Test with and without the app installed.
- Test links from the browsers your audience actually uses.
- Keep a useful web fallback.
- Measure the final outcome, such as a purchase or signup, alongside visits.
